Here is an exotic fruit and a fun and easy way to impress a friend! The last one I had was bright magenta inside, yet this one was whitish with black seeds. This one tasted almost exactly like a kiwi fruit, seeds and all. When you are looking for dragon fruits, the shape of the fruit should be a good indicator of the color they are inside, and when you squeeze them lightly they have a slight give without being mushy. The rounder ones will be magenta inside and the oval ones are white with black seeds.

The kiwi flavor made me crave the flavor of strawberry-kiwi Karbolyn, so I added some of that to the breakfast bowl to make it even more fun. We shall load up on three kinds of good carbs as well as 6 types of protein, and then add some good fat into the mix. This meal will keep you fueled for quite some time!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 scoop of vanilla Training Ground Protein 6
  • 1-2 tsp. strawberry-kiwi Karbolyn
  • Dragon Fruit (pitaya)
  • ¼ cup quick oats or gluten-free quick oats
  • 2 tbsp. plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp. chopped almonds
  • 2 sliced cherries or strawberries

DIRECTIONS:

Chop the dragon-fruit in half the long way, top to bottom. Scoop out the fruit with a spoon (you will see this is very easy) and then slice it. You can use the skin to serve the meal if you like, but you need to give it to the person in their hands because they are curved on the bottom so are difficult to set on the table.

Put the quick oats in a small bowl and add the water and stevia. Microwave it for a minute to a minute and fifteen seconds. If it’s too hot, add an ice cube and stir until melted. Add the yogurt and Karbolyn and stir. Top it with the sliced dragon fruit, sliced cherries or strawberries, and chopped almonds as a topping and serve!
